Maryland Contractor License

Maryland State Contractor Licensing

Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Burglar Alarm Companies and Home Improvement Licenses

Certain Maryland licenses are regulated by Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulations, Division of Occupational Licensing. However, Maryland also regulates licensing at the local level as well. Maryland offers reciprocity for license holders in Delaware, Virginia and West Virginia.

NCL can assist you with the following licensing classifications:

Maryland Board of Electrical Examiners

Electricians are regulated by the Maryland Board of Electrical Examiners. This license requires testing at the state level.

Maryland Home Improvement Commission

The Maryland Home Improvement Commission licenses and regulates home improvement contractors and salespersons. Home improvement work includes alteration, remodeling, repair or replacement of a building or part of a building used as a residence. Home improvement also includes work done on individual condominium units. Home improvement does not include work done on commonly owned areas of condominiums or buildings that contain four or more single family units. The Commission investigates complaints by homeowners, awards monetary damages against licensed contractors, and prosecutes violators of the home improvement law and regulations.

Maryland State Police

The Licensing Division is responsible for administering the law and conducting investigations concerning: the licensing of Private Detectives, Private Detective Agencies, Security Guards and Security Guard Agencies, and the licensing of Security Systems Technicians and Security Systems Agencies.
